PGA Ryder Cup
Delaware North Chalet
The Project
Delaware North envisioned a chalet that radiated residential luxury and brand confidence–a space that invited connection, exuded sophistication and stood apart from the rest. Below is an account of the process and work that I managed, designed, and implemented.
The Goal:
Design Delaware North’s Chalet
The Budget:
150K
Schedule:
8 months
(concept to installation)
Deliverables:
Moodboard, Renderings, Floorplan, FF&E, OS&E, Decorations, Installation
The moodboard : Modern Luxury
The meaning of modern luxury has transformed–no longer dark and moody, but light, calm and effortlessly elegant. For the PGAY, my team and I envisioned a space that embodied serene sophistication. A palette of muted grays and warm browns, accented by hints of gold and black, set the tone. Velvety testures and fluted woods layered in depth and tactility, creating a quiet opulence that felt both timeless and contemporary.
Renderings & Plans:
Thoughtful planning & Communication
My team and I refined every aspect of the project. We drew up the plans, elevations, and 3D renderings as tools to communicate to the architects, operations, finance, general contractors, vendors, and graphics to ensure that a cohesive brand look was executed.
On-Site installation:
Thinking on our feet
Unlike other installations, the chalets for the PGA Ryder Cup are located on the perimeter of the golf course. The unique installation required careful coordination with the golf course, the operations staff, and PGA. As with many installations, there were challenges to overcome and a lot of last minute decisions that had to be made on the fly to ensure that everything was installed on time and within expectations.
The Result:
The PGA has awarded our Chalet as “Best in Show”. The chalet served its purpose of being a venue for the executives to conduct business and entertain VIP’s.
